In order to prevent obesity, prevention is necessary at the overweight stage before middle age, and middle-aged men need health management. In addition, overweight men due to excessive body fat will not exercise regularly, so muscle mass and muscle functionality will decrease, which will reduce not only health but also the quality of life. Battle rope is an effective exercise for improving overall functional physical strength of muscles, such as flexibility, whole body muscle stimulation, endurance and muscle strength, and in terms of calorie consumption, it was found that battle rope is more effective in promoting calorie consumption during the same time compared to general resistance exercise. This study was conducted to identify the effects of battle rope exercise on improving obesity factors and developing functional physical strength in overweight men, and to present battle rope as an exercise therapy for preventing obesity in overweight men and developing healthy muscle strength. The research results showed that in the battle rope exercise group, body fat mass (p<.001***) decreased and lean body mass (p<.001***) increased after exercise, showing a statistically significant difference. In terms of functional physical strength, explosive power (p<.01**) and muscular endurance (p<.001***) increased after exercise, showing a statistically significant difference, and coordination (p<.05*) showed a significant decrease after exercise compared to before. The results of this research showed that 9 weeks of battle rope exercise had a positive and significant effect on decreasing body fat mass, increasing lean body mass, and developing explosive power, muscular endurance, and coordination. It can be suggested as an effective exercise for the overall development of functional physical strength.
