The recent reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the Republic of Korea opens up a range of opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest. Notably, food security and sovereignty stand out, along with the importance of developing a legal framework that recognizes these principles as a fundamental human right to healthy and adequate nutrition. Within this context, the development of urban agriculture—an area where both nations have seen success—emerges as a key strategy in the pursuit of sovereign, local, and sustainable food systems.This scenario thus creates spaces for exchange and complementarity that are conducive to the advancement of scientific diplomacy, promoting favorable environments for communication and collaboration in the short, medium, and long term. Such cooperation would be grounded in mutual respect, empathy, and long-lasting partnership.
