This study analyzed the changes and accuracy of estimated VO₂max following eight weeks of continuous training in male college basketball players at University D in City J. The participants were divided into two groups: Group A (control group), who engaged in autonomous exercise, and Group B (research group), who underwent continuous endurance training after team training. Analysis of changes in VO₂max in Group A (control group) revealed a slight increase, measured using a portable breath gas analyzer, but the difference was not statistically significant. The estimated value using the Cooper formula decreased, a statistically significant difference ( p<0.01). Group B (research group) showed a significant increase in both the portable breath gas analyzer and the estimated value using the Cooper formula, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement. In summary, these results suggest that the control group did not improve VO₂max without systematic aerobic training. This suggests that continuous endurance training, albeit briefly, effectively improved VO₂max in college basketball players. In addition, in the comparison between groups, Group B (research group) showed a consistent increase in all measurement indicators compared to Group A (control group), confirming that continuous training had a positive effect on improving cardiopulmonary endurance. In future field training, it is expected that the Cooper formula will be utilized to precisely establish and develop customized aerobic training programs for each group according to the subject's physical fitness level, thereby contributing to providing efficient and scientific training guidelines.
