This study aimed to develop a K-MOOC-based micro-learning course for digital fashion technology education. The digital fashion design micromanaging course included 2D pattern CAD, 3D fashion CAD, and digital texturing. The developed micro-learning course was published on the K-MOOC learning website, and in-depth interviews were conducted with four experts who had taken the course, analyzing their evaluations and potential improvements.
The digital fashion design micro-learning course included six weeks of 2D pattern CAD, nine weeks of 3D fashion CAD, and three weeks of digital texturing. The 2D pattern CAD course covered practical processes such as pattern creation using Yuka CAD, grading, seam allowances, and markers. The 3D fashion CAD course focused on creating virtual samples using CLO and modifying them to develop new designs. The digital texturing course emphasized digital fabric representation and the principles and techniques for fabric pattern expression. Each course included lecture videos covering theory and practice, along with learning activities and materials such as quizzes, discussions, assignments, and projects. In-depth interviews with four experts yielded positive feedback on of the overall curriculum and learning materials. In particular, the 2D pattern CAD course included grading, seam allowances, and marker functions, suggesting high applicability in the industry. The integration of T/D and R&D in the 3D fashion CAD course was deemed highly useful for learning virtual sample creation tools. The digital texturing course was rated highly for its ability to create design variations with fabrics and evaluated graphic images.
