Objective: The aim of this study is to propose an accessibility assessment tool based on task analysis, especially therbligs. Background: There are numerous studies on accessibility issues, however, proposed accessibility assessment tools are yet vague and not universally adoptable. Kim et al. (2016) and Lee et al. (2015) applied Hierarchical Task Analysis (hereafter, HTA) to evaluate accessibility issues in home appliances, allowing developers to easily map the required user tasks and assess which tasks or subtasks cause accessibility issues in micro-level. However, the sub levels are very specific and needs modification every time they assess new appliances. On the other hand, therbligs allow developers to easily define user interactions in pre-defined 18 categories and to determine not only whether they are informational or physical, but also whether they should be removed in task or enhanced rather. Method: Total of 36 disabled participants (14 visually impaired, 13 hearing impaired, and 9 spinal cord injured) were interviewed and observed in advance to the development of hierarchical structure of HTA. They were interviewed in order to elicit their frustration and needs when they interact with home appliances, and observed to define their actual interaction methods. After the interview/observation session, the hierarchical structure was established based on their interacting methods and objects as the purpose of usage alters by time. In terms of main tasks, they were categorized based on 5 timely-context-of-use: pre-usage(preparation), control, monitoring in use, post-usage, and maintenance. Each sub-subtasks were defined in accordance ... 전체 초록 보기
