Objective: The aims of this study are to investigate the user needs on wrist-type wearable devices by different user types, and to evaluate the difference in terms of device types under the UCD perspective. Background: With a huge leap in the field of wearable computing, the number of users using wrist-type wearables have also increased, yet they are not prevalently adopted when compared to other popular devices; there still exist some problems. Method: We conducted a questionnaire survey by applying UCD method and 41 participants respond. They were asked to answer the 10 evaluation criteria of wrist-type wearable device in 7-point Likert scale. The users are classified by age, gender, proficiency with smart device and concern with health, while their devices are classified by price, device type, display type and texture of band.
