The morphological characteristics of wild clones of Chrysanthemum boreale Mak. were investigated in the present study. One hundred and fifteen clones were collected and examined for variations in growth and morphological characteristics. Stem diameter showed the greatest coefficient variation (22.8%) followed by the number of branches (21.4%) and plant height (9.7%). Plant height ranged from 146 to 245 cm with a mean of 115 clones being 191±18.5 cm. Stem diameter ranged from 7.2 to 22.8 mm with a mean of 13.7±3.1 mm. The number of branches per plant ranged from 15 to 43 with a mean of 27±5.7. Frequency distribution of plant height separated the clones into 5 groups. Flowering time of the collected clones ranged from October 6 to October 31 and most of the clones flowered in mid-October. Capitulum diameter ranged from 12.1 to 20.6 mm with a mean of 15.2±1.5 mm. Frequency distribution of capitulum diameter showed that 66% of the clones had a capitulum diameter of 13.1-16.0 mm. Ten leaf shapes were recorded; among them, leaf shape of score 5 was the most prominent, representing 56% of the collected clones. Correlation between plant height and stem diameter was significant. Correlation between capitulum diameter and pedicel length was highly significant. On the other hand, correlation between dry flower weight and pedicel length was negatively significant.
