This paper investigates the effects of host country's cultural openness on the choice of entry mode of foreign direct investment by IT venture firms listed on Kosdaq, The results show that the more open the host country's national culture, the more firms prefer to invest in wholly-owned subsidiary than international joint ventures. However, cultural distance between home country and host country does not have independent effects on the choice of entry mode of foreign direct investment suggesting that cultural distance may not have significant effects on IT ventured firms.
Overall the result supports that host country's culture may be a structural factor influencing the choice of entry mode of foreign direct investment.
