    With the advent of smart phones, the use of mobile phone has been diversified, which made the screen of smart phone larger than the past. The large screen mobile device can cause a certain level of discomfort when griping the device. Recently, curved display smartphones have just been released to the market for better user experience. However, no research has been done on the curved display handheld device in terms of comfort grip and muscle activity. This study aims to figure out the relationship between the form factors of the curved display mobile device and the muscle activity. Four muscles-APB, APL, FDI, ED-were selected for observing the muscle activity when using a mobile device. Eight mock-ups were developed for experiment, and five users were participated in the experiment for measuring muscle activity of three typical tasks (dragging, tapping, texting). According to the results, the curvature rate and depth affect the muscle activity significantly, and there was an optimal curvature rate between 100R and 200R. These results could be used in designing more comfort curved mobile devices.
