    Concrete can be used to form various shapes including plane and curved shapes, and the concrete structure is a integrated one, which can enhance structural safety against external loading. In this paper, various applications of the structural concrete were revisited and the advantages were discussed. In Cayan Tower, Dubai, the twisted building was constructed using reinforced concrete. Concrete core and external tube provide a stiff structure system despite the twisted building shape. In the application to TOD’s Tree Building, the exterior wall was constructed with reinforced concrete. Particularly, the shape of the wall simulate the shape of trees. The tree-shaped wall not only provide architectural skin but also is used as structural elements resisting the gravity load. Thus, column free space can be provided inside the building. In the case of Al Hamra Tower, the building is one of the tallest irregular shaped building. Instead of using irregular exterior shape, a regular shape was used, but a part of floor plan was removed such that a tube shape of the building was vertically carved. By removing different parts of the floor plans along the building height, the overall shape of the building looks irregular though in fact, the actual shape is regular. Architectural external skin of buildings have been frequently constructed with concrete. In the case of Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, the skin of the building has a shape of mesh, which was constructed with a special concrete, Ultra-High Performance Fiber-Reinforced Concrete(UHPFRP). The UHPFRP has high strength in tension as well as in compression. Thus, the use of the UHPFRP enable to form a thin skin with irregular shapes. Because of such advantages, in the future, the use of UHPFRP is expected to significantly increase.
