    This study aims to propose (1) types of ICT convergence for safety technology and (2) their systematic development process. For developing a concept of the safety technology based on ICT convergence, in particular, we use quality function deployment (QFD) and technology roadmap. First, through relationships among factors of hazard, worker, and ICT, main three types of ICT convergence for safety technology are suggested: hazard-centered ICT, worker-centered ICT, and ICT-mediated system. In addition, with respect to three types of the ICT convergence, the two-phase QFD process is developed to effectively identify product and system concepts. Finally, for formulating development planning, the customized roadmapping process is proposed by linking the results of QFD and technology roadmap. Through this approach, the case study on the high-place working in a construction site is also presented to devise safety technologies based on ICT convergence.
