With the upcoming Internet of Things (IoT) and AI technologies, the development of an edge AI based waste management system is proposed in this paper. The proposed system is an innovative system which helps to improve the efficiency of waste management, and reduces the involvement of manual labor in the process. This system involves two main subsystems: i) a waste monitoring and garbage trucks allocation system and ii) an automated bin exchanging system.
