    There have been some studies done to support multicast in mobile environments. However, existing protocols focus mainly on mobility of the receiver and the multicast source mobility has not been addressed at all or poorly studied. The movement of the sender may cause a great inefficiency since the source has to rebuild the whole multicast tree and/or send packets through non-optimized tree paths. The proposed approach provides an efficient and scalable solution to support movement of the multicast source by creating domains of tree from the main multicast delivery tree and thus isolating the mobility of the sender/receiver within domains. Besides the hierarchical management of the multicast tree, the proposed approach also presents a simple and efficient algorithm to further reduce network load and delay. We compare our approach to existing wireless multicast approaches using simulation results and show that the proposed approach significantly improves the performance when frequent source movements occur in the wireless multicast network.
