This study aimed to examine the sequential dual mediating effects of parasocial relationships and peer attachment on the effects of parasocial interaction on adolescents’ ego-identity and ego-resilience. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 728 students attending middle and high schools in D city and G province. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, pearson correlation analysis, and path analysis with the SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. The major results were as follows. First, there were significant positive correlations among adolescents’ parasocial interaction, prasocial relationships, peer attachment, ego-identity, and ego-resilience. Second, adolescents’ parasocial interaction had no indirect effect on ego-identity through parasocial relationships. However, adolescents’ parasocial interaction had an indirect effect on ego-identity through parasocial relationships and peer attachment. Third, adolescents’ parasocial interaction had an indirect effect on ego-resilience through parasocial relationships. Furthermore, adolescents’ parasocial interaction had an indirect effect on ego-resilience through parasocial relationships and peer attachment. This study revealed adolescents’ parasocial interaction, parasocial relationships and peer attachment need to be considered to explain adolescents’ ego-identity and ego-resilience.
