This manuscript is the study about the written will and written petition excavated in Hwang Eui-Seok's house; Kyungpook Uljin-gun Giseong-myeon sa-dong 433. Wansan mrs. Yi, the titled lady of Haewolheon Hwang Yeo-il (he remarried her), left a written will and petition at the era of Hyo-jong in Chosun dynasty which were to solve the problem concerning the descendant of the main family of his clan caused by the matter of the clan register. The will was written in order to hand it down to his posterity directly by Wansan mrs. Yi after two years reign of Hyo-jong. The petition was written in korean and it was written in order to hand it down to his posterity after being authenticated by the governor.
Certification documents in about 16~17th are very valuable, and they might be the first documents as the will written in korean. They are very valuable not only because they can be used importantly to study the descendant of the main family of one's clan in the point of annals of legislation, also because they are transcriptions written in korea in which spoken languages of contact dialects in Kyungsang and Kangwon regions are reflected.
We can confirm the fact that the korean alphabet took its position firmly as a means of circular letters by looking at the one of the posthumous writings written by Wansan mrs. Yi after two years reign of Hyo-jong ; "I write in korea alphabet to express something to my descendants." That is, we can here catch the fact that the korean language was not only for women but senders and receivers were not fixed to the sex distinction so that local governments attempted remove them.
