Online Dispute Resolution(ODR) is one of the most powerful dispute resolution mechanisms to resolve online disputes in cross-border e-commerce in spite of the fact that much work still requires to be done to guarantee a better quality of ODR and to establish proper standards and principals for ODR use towards a practical and fair method. The purpose of this study contributes to create general and model rules of ODR for the development of trustworthy and confident ODR and the encouragement of cross-border e-commerce. This study looks at international approaches and strategies on ODR systems through the main stakeholders’ principles, rules, proposals and recommendations because the extension of ODR should correspond with international growth. This paper examines international approaches of ODR in the EU, the USA, China, the OECD and the UNCITRAL in particular. On balance, one country cannot develop and regulate for creating effective ODR mechanisms alone and therefore, in order to develop of ODR and sustain the rapid of growth of cross-border e-commerce, the main stakeholders should try to converge to form international ODR mechanisms that incorporate flexibility and business practicality.
