This research investigates the significant question regarding what is the main effects of the industrial agglomeration on the case of regional strategic industries on Chungnam province. Within the context of regional competitiveness and economic growth, industrial agglomeration theory is employed as a theoretical foundation. This research examines Following are the major findings of this research. Frist, electronic information industry and auto parts industry are positively associated with increasing the industrial agglomeration except advanced cultural industry and Agricultural and livestock biotechnology industry. Second, other industries except for the advance cultural industry are positively associated with increasing the regional economic growth. Third, correlation analysis between industrial agglomeration and competitiveness is related in auto industry with the exception of other industries.
Furthermore, the local governments need to expand their support to the strategic industries. Lastly this research suggests that local governments should pay attention to strategies of selection and concentration based on local based industry
