This paper proposes an investigation on modification of debolcking filter decision in the Joint Exploration Test Model (JEM) reference software. in this paper, deblocking filter decision in JEM software is modified by firstly examining several additional technologies introduced for inter coded picture, such as local illumination compensation, affine motion compensation, and overlapped block motion compensation. The proposed study investigates whether those additional technologies have effects to the deblocking filter performance. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can trivially improve BD-rate performance on both chroma samples without increasing encoding complexity.
