By the statistical data of Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal, the marine accident of fishing vessels have been increased and accounted for 68% of the total accidents in 2015. In this paper, the accidents in the past 10 years were examined with accident analysis and proposed measures to improve the safety of the marine accident. Most of marine accidents were engine troubles and collisions accounted for 53%, for smaller vessels below 20 tons account for 68%, and more marine incidents occurred during the daytime than in nighttime. Major causes of marine accidents were non-compliance with general principles, other operational errors, and lack of maintenance inspections etc. In order to solve this problem, human resources management, reinforced marine safety management, and improvement of fishing facilities were presented.
