    Port evaluation is essential for obtainment of performance and efficiency assessments that can be used as references for refinements. In most cases, however, the evaluation process is performed only for high-level operations, as for low-level operations is considerably complicated. This paper presents a novel approach based on process mining for evaluation of low-level port operations by classifying the activity flow using heat matrix and fuzzy inference. The methodology proceeds in two steps. First, a process workflow perspective is extracted from sufficiently large port operational data, which perspective is then presented in a compelling visualization that can effectively guide domain experts’ evaluation of each activity flow. Second, fuzzy inference is performed to deal with the uncertainty and subjectivity incurred by individual judgments. In this paper, the application and practical relevance of the proposed approach is demonstrated based on a case study involving a real port data.
