This paper examines the results of research conducted by Korean scholars in various fields during the period of 10 years since the discovery of the Chinese workbooks published in Korea under the Japanese colonialism and also suggests the direction of the future research based on the achievement of previous study.
The Chinese workbook was first discovered and introduced to Korean academia in 2007, and the systematic investigation started from the publication of the revised edition by Song, Heonseok’s 『Zhinayujicheng(支那语集成)』(1921) at Sunmoon University Central Translation and Literature Research Institute.
Until this time, the Japanese Colonial rule was an entirely new subject to Chinese workbooks and Chinese education researches. Since then, academic researchers have been interested in this field and related study has begun to take place. As more materials are discovered, it now becomes an important field of study.
In this paper, by contemplation of Chinese workbooks during the Japanese Colonial period, we analyze the research results of Korean scholars who have studied the characteristics of Chinese language reflected in collection of data and education of Chinese language, and I intend to contribute to more advanced approach to the direction of research.
