In this paper, I analyzed the use of Katakana Korean words in the Chosun Shinbo newspaper and discussed their meanings and functions. As a result, it was found that Katakana Korean words are often used to describe things and activities related to the Chongryon organization and Chosen schools in Japan, and that their meaning range is narrower than that of the original Korean words. Also, Katakana Korean is thought to be used to emphasize a sense of solidarity among community members.
