For reducing in the deviation of the related signals, we introduce the normalization into the ACF algorithm. The relation between the damping parameter α and the convergence characteristics is examined to get an explicit criterion for determining α. The optimum values are experimentally found in the modeling of unknown time variable systems. Finally, we propose a new ACF algorithm in which the convergence factor is always set to be optimum even if the input signal and the composition of filters are changed. The proposed algorithm is investigated by the computer simulations in the system identification. The results shows that the proposed algorithm works successfully.
