We propose an indoor positioning system for light emitting diodes (LEDs) and demonstrated it via simulation. Received signal strength (RSS) at the receiver from the two LEDs is recorded at various locations of the room and then artificial neural networks is applied to estimate the location of the object. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated via MATLAB and on average regression of 0.998 can be achieved for two-dimensional scenario and regression of 0.83 can be achieved for three-dimensional scenario for a room with dimensions of 5m × 5m × 4m.
