Plumulites chikunensis Kobayashi, 1934 from the Jigunsan Formation is described based on the detailed observation of numerous small sclerites. Apart from the regular outer and inner sclerites, several different types of sclerites were recognized : outer sclerite with irregular ridges and grooves, modified outer sclerite, inner sclerite with widely-spaced rugae, and equilateral triangular-shaped inner sclerite. Irregular ridges or grooves on some outer sclerites can be interpreted as a mechanically strengthening structure. It is interpreted that inner sclerite with widely-spaced rugae may be transversely corresponded to modified outer sclerite and equilateral triangular-shaped inner sclerite should occupy the anteriormost portion of sclerite assemblage, lacking accompanying outer sclerites.
