초록· 키워드
Cretaceous non-marine molluscan fossils were discovered from the Hasandong Formation at the Jungang Expressway side of Sabu-dong, Bongyang-myeon, Euiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. It is worthy of notice that the locality is at the northernmost of molluscan fossil localities previously known in the Euiseong Subbasin of the Gyeongsang Basin. The formation yields three species of bivalves (Trigonioides kodairai, Plicatounio naktongensis, Nagdongia soni), one species of gastropod (Viviparus sp.) and one fossilized tooth specimen belonging to crocodile. This molluscan fauna shows that the Gyeongsang Basin had been established a longitudinal faunal migration channel and the faunal interchange through this channel was relatively active. Furthermore, the common occurrence of Trigonioides and Plicatounio in both Korea and Japan indicates that Hida Belt and Sangun-Yamaguchi Belt in the Inner Zone of Southwest Japan were closely adjoined the Gyeongsang Basin during Early Cretaceous.
