This study was made on the fact that the compressive strength characteristics, environmental impact review and durability of the recently developed silica-sol grouting material was examined, whose grouting material used for this study was designed to understand its strength property and ecology through the uniaxial compressive strength test, SEM photographing, chemical resistance test, leaching test, permeability test in order to compare with the engineering characteristics regarding the 3-dimensional gel forming agents, silica-sol grouting material and sodium silicate grouting material. The uniaxial compressive strength of silica-sol grouting material was identified to be increased more than 3∼5 times than sodium silicate grouting material at the early stage(within 72 hours), and as a result of SEM photographing, the surface and internal tissues of silica-sol grouting material could be identified to be denser than those of sodium silicate. As a result of leaching test the adaptability was identified as grouting material as it had proved to be an ecological material owing to the total amount of the element to be leached being extremely little.
