The Korean Eco-indicator method has been proposed to represent environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle in a single score. The objective of this research is to determine the relative significance factor of an impact category which is an essential component of a weighting factor in the Korean Eco-indicator method. Conventional analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and a modified AHP proposed in this research which employs rank-order were applied to derive the relative significance factor. Results from the two methods were identical except a minor difference in the value of the relative significance factor. The Rank-Order AHP is judged useful than conventional AHP, because the former reduces the number of pair-wise comparison while allowing expert make judgment easier with consistency. The relative significance factor of an impact category including abiotic resource depletion, global warming, ozone depletion, human toxicity, eco-toxicity, acidification, eutrophication, and photochemical oxidant creation were 0.277, 0.267, 0.145, 0.112, 0.097, 0.054, 0.032 and 0.017, respectively.
