Recently, due to the increase in the supply of automobiles and the issue of accidents, interest in the safety rating of automobiles is increasing. Currently, KNCAP for domestic consumption, reinforced NCAP and IIHS for North America, Euro NCAP for Europe, and CNCAP for China are used as safety rating standards. The problem is that the vehicles currently being developed are being developed to achieve the highest level of vehicle safety in all regions. This is an inefficient strategy that does not take into account various characteristics such as sales regions, market trends, safety regulations, and vehicle types/classes.
The purpose of this study is to construct two models, an expert-based model and a market-based model, to calculate an efficient safety rating index in consideration of marketability, regional characteristics, and profitability. It is to suggest a rational and strategic vehicle development direction.
