Jinju meteorite is an observed fall after a fireball on 2014, March 9, 20:04 (local time) above Jinju, Korea : four stones of 34 kg in total having identical petrological characteristics were recovered from the day after the fireball to a couple of weeks later. The meteorite was classified as H5 ordinary chondrite (Meteoritical Bulletin 103). Here we summarize the petrological characteristics, bulk chemical compositions, bulk oxygen isotopic composition, chemical compositions of some major and minor minerals, U-Pb measurements on merrillite grains and in-situ oxygen isotopic compositions of olivine grains of Jinju chondrite (Choi et al, 2015; Choi and Hong, 2016; Nagao et al., 2016; Goh et al., 2019). The meteorite consists mostly of olivine (Fa18.29±0.17), orthopyroxene (Fs16.18±0.19Wo1.34±0.21), plagioclase (An12.48±0.5), diopside, Fe-Ni metal, troilite. No fine-grained matrix minerals exist. Silicate minerals are chemically equilibrated as petrologic type 5. Bulk chemical and oxygen isotopic compositions fall in the ranges of typical H-group ordinary chondrites. U-Pb measurements on merrillite using SHRIMP IIe at KBSI and terrestrial apatite standards were made. Due to low ratio of radiogenic to common lead, the data have relatively large uncertainties and proper 204Pb-correction was not possible; the uncorrected 206Pb/207Pb age is calculated as 4597 ± 41 Ma, while 204Pb-corrected 206Pb/207Pb ages is 4485 ± ... 전체 초록 보기
