#This study investigates the impact of suppliers’ defective products on buyer satisfaction in relation to supply chain integration. This aspect has not been taken into account in previous studies on supply chain integration and product quality. This study also discusses the moderating effect of supply chain integration on the relationship between supplier defects and satisfaction. We address moderating effects considering the diverse types of production processes. The results of the hypothesis test show that product defects decrease buyer satisfaction and that supply chain integration reduces negative effects . The results also show that regulatory effects depend on production strategies. This study is meaningful in that it addresses the moderating role of supply chain integration and the influence of supplier quality on buyer satisfaction. It also presents managerial implications from the perspective of suppliers and buyers.
