The Chinese Chong-Myo system was established in pre-Han China, and was been fundamentally maintained since then. With the acceptance of the Nine Mausoleum System (九廟制) by Wang Su (王肅), it continued until the Yuan dynasty, where it experienced great changes. During this dynasty, the Three Shrine Style (三殿形式) was completed; itself developed from a fusion of the Multiple Casket Mausoleum System (同堂異室制) and the Adjoining Mausoleum System (前廟後寢). This style continued until the Ming and Ching dynasties. The Koryo dynasty of Korea maintained the same Tang system (唐制) as Sung China, but differences had emerged between the two countries by the Yuan dynasty. The Choson dynasty of Korea attempted to return to the original style of architecture, by implementing the Adjoining Mausoleum System with the main Mausoleum. However, the Choson architects were greatly influenced by Koryo Korea, with the number of rooms increasing as the entire mausoleum took on a longer shape. The Yongnyongjon, which originally began as a separate mausoleum, eventually changed to have the combined function of Four Ancestors Mausoleum (四祖廟) and the Jomyo (祧廟); these are some of the features of Choson mausoleum architecture.
