    In this paper, a new transport layer protocol which can support various services is designed and implemented. The main concept of this transport layer protocol is to select an appropriate protocol entity among various protocol entities depending on the characteristics of transmission medium and data. To support this concept, a transport layer is composed of four protocol entities. Transport layer protocol can also support real-time applications. For these applications, a dynamic error control and a dynamic flow control were introduced. In data transfer phase, the protocol can adapt itself to system environments. And the multicasting and broadcasting facilities are designed and implemented to make it easy to construct an IPC(Interprocess Communication) mechanism. The implemented protocol entities have been tested and its performance has been measured. The simulation has produced similar results with measurements.
