On the top of 200 Mbit/s Integrated Digital Ring Network, we currently develop a integrated NOS which provide a reliable and extensible operating system for data, voice and image transmission. Our model is Task-oriented model 3) To provide high reliability and easy maintenance for various data-type transmission. 4) To support portable facilities for different network architectures. 5) To hide the distribution while provides the resources sharing and data communication. As what Figure 1 shows, TONOS is not only designed to support three different network architectures - Integrate Digital Ring Network (IDRN [6]), Multi-channel Manufacturing Automation Protocol (MMAP) and ETHERNET, but also support three software applications - Data Application Program (DAP), Voice Application Program (VAP) and Image Application Program (IAP). Thus the key design concept of TONOS different from other system is its structure which can provide many-to-one and one-to-many service for network software and hardware. In the other word, TONOS is reconfigurable and extensible for either network application software or network physical hardware.
