The purpose of this study was to examine the children's attachment representation based on the narrative method. The subjects were 101 children(56 boys and 45 girls) attending preschool in Jeonju. Children were interviewed by the researcher using a Attachment Story Completion Task(ASCT; Bretherton et al., 1990).
Children tended to exhibit appropriate response to the focal theme of five attachment story. So, this results showed the possibility of the attachment representation assessment based on children's narrative. And also, children's internal working model of attachment as represented in their narrative responses to story-stems was classified. Among the 101 children, 56.4% were classified as secure, 22.8% were classified as insecure-avoidant, 20.8% were classified as insecure-disorganized.
