The IRMA roof construction. widely known as Insulated Roof Membrane Assembly in USA or Umkehrdach in Germany. is
the most popular roof system in EU countries like Germany or Austria. Since this construction consists of a few elements very simply, the reduction of working-terms and the economical benefits could be guaranteed. So. this system could be constructively in harmony with green roof as well. But this system is not yet available in korea. Because they couldn't be sure of the technical isolation of the increasable thermal loss. when the rainwater percolates the layers of the soil. the drainage and the insulation onto the waterproof. It is not so serious as they believe. if the construction of the layers would be made up right. So the purpose of this study is to introduce correctly the characters of this construction. connected with green roof. and to suppose a prototype, whose layers and construction are matching in the present condition in korea.
