This study attempts to make clear the meaning and the characteristics
of feminist politics which is different from mainstream politics both in theory and praxis. As feminist politics takes seriously women's distinctive
experiences and their demands, it concerns the redefinition of the concept of
the politics and power, and the public and private spheres from women's point of view. The characteristics of feminist politics can be found in the following pursuits. First, it attempts to politicize the fields of the so-called 'unpolitical' sphere in the minds of the mainstream politics. Second, it attempts to extend the fields of politics from the public to the private life sector and to the everyday-life through introducing the micropolitics of power. Third, it concerns the construction of the women's publicity and of the new public ethics.
With regard to the praxis of feminist politics, it is indispensible to consider the political potentiality of the marginality. Further, it needs the changing of the rules in order to transform the existing male-dominant political paradigm by way of the empowerment of women. However, this subversive praxis of feminist politics needs to join a politics of difference in order not to claim an another universality. This study attempts to show that the success of the feminist politics consists in the reconstruction and recreation of
the political sphere and of the political paradigm through bringing the women's reality and their life experiences. However, it is not helpful to make political participation simply for the purpose of increasing women's power within the male-dominant political system, and to make their demands being absorbed into the mainstream political paradigm.
