Korean culture has been changed rapidly, during the last generation. Family cultural values and characteristics that Koreans
possess still continue to be traditional. However, family systems,
roles, rules, and family values are changing along with the rapid
modernization currently taking place. The characteristic of Korean
family culture in the digital age is based on cultural diversities and multi-centralism. There are some differences between older
generations and younger generations in their emotional systems,
behaviors, and independent relationships. Because of such differences in Korean family culture one cannot make sweeping generalized statements..
The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of digital culture in the development & change of Christian family counseling paradigms. It also presents the practice principles of countermeasure. The distinguishing characteristics of Christian family counseling paradigm include the following: family identity-based perspective, solution?focused issue, family resilience, strengths, therapeutic dialogue and questions, which are related to the Biblical presupposition. The author also suggests the importance of family education, social network family intervention and Korean government’s supports for helping families. The practice principle implication of this study is based on the Scripture foundation, secular “nuggets”, such as narrative family counseling, solution.focused family counseling, reflecting team and solution focused pastoral counseling.
