In this paper, three new enhanced coupling ring resonators are studied, which are composed of one or two coupled lines and a slit at both input and output coupling circuits so as to maximize coupling effects. Insertion and return losses in these circuits are improved as compared with those of conventional ring resonators. Two lines-to-ring coupling resonator also has an intensive suppression above the third harmonic within the electrical length of 45˚ in the coupled line of the ring. This characteristic is due to input and output coupling structure including coupled lines and a slit. The suppression frequency of two lines-to-ring coupling resonator can be controlled as width and length of two coupled lines are varied and it can be applied to the microwave circuits such as filters, duplexers, antennas, and mixers in microwave circuits.
