In this study, the effect of pressure grouting for soil nailing was analyzed by using program SNAILZ/WIN and TALREN97. In this analysis, nail length and the factors of safety are fixed to estimate the effect of pressure grouting. Nail-ground adhesion was controlled by injection pressure and several nails of different yield strength were applied.
Nail-ground adhesion was estimated by insitu pull-out test and yield strength of nails was selected between 42ksi and 57ksi. As the results of analysis, the horizontal space of nail could be increased considerably when nail-ground adhesion was increased by pressure grouting. Moreover, The higher strength of nail was combined, the more the effect of pressure grouting was increased. Therefore, the economical and optimal design in soil nailing will be possible if pressure grouting is applied together with high strength of nails.
