Two main topics were considered in this study. The first one is comprised of the design of solar driven absorption cooling machine (SDACM) with 5 USRT and its performance analysis theoretically. This SDACM is a single effect that could be used for low temperature of solar thermal energy. The SDACM design data were calculated by computer simulation program which was made in this study. The COP and cooling capacity of the SDACM was calculated using steady state simulation program, especially with the functions of the cooling water inlet temperature and generating hot water inlet temperature.
The second one of study involved the design and computer simulation of the complete solar cooling system. This system included hot and cold storage tanks. These two storage tanks were designed in order to be stratified thermally by diffuser. The input deck of the TRNSYS simulation program was made for the analysis of these kinds of solar cooling systems. The parametric study, especially the influence of the collector area, storage tank volume and heating load on the system performance, was accomplished by this TRNSYS for the system optimization.
