Collaboration is necessary to get expertise in architectural design. However it is difficult to collaborate efficiently because of the limitation of time and space. Even though the development of IT and the diffusion of the internet provide a good infrastructure for collaborative design, research in collaborative design has not been throughly studied.
The purpose of this study is to solve the problem of communication between experts. Therefore we will suggest a web-based collaborative system and provide checklists and a knowledge database of the system. We will analyze the design process, then construct the checklist which will support the information needed in the design process at the proper time. By defining the concept of collaborative system, we can establish infrastructure the system for collaborative architectural design.
