A cooling system with chilled ceiling panel carries out air conditioning by radiation and convection heat teansfer between the room and the cold ceiling panel. In this study, a cooling system with chilled ceiling panel and fan coil unit was considered, where the fan coil unit treated latent cooling load which could not be treated with the chilled ceiling panel. Experimental and parametric studies were carried out for various operating parameters in order to verify operating characteristics of this cooling system.
The ratio of flow rate of cold water could be found one of the important parameters and about 50% of cooling load could be treated through the chilled ceiling panel. The temperature of cold water supplied to the ceiling panel also had a great influence on the load fraction of chilled ceiling panel.
