    This study focuses upon the multimodal freight transport system in port's hinterland. rban and port territory. This study aims to analyze the problems of multimodal transport system, and to identify comprehensive strategies to encourage the multimodal freight transport in Gwangyang Port's Hinterland(GPH), Korea. Section two attempts to review multimodal transport system in port's hinterland theoretically. The current situations and problems of multimodal transport system in GPH are analyzed in the third section from a macro perspective. The major strategies to encourage multimodal transport system in GPH are identified in the fourth section. This study was mainly based upon a review of current reports/papers, an analysis of secondary data and an interview with experts.
