From the architectural viewpoint of regarding mixed-use residential buildings not as a sale building but as a building that puts a city and a neighborhood together, there gets a demand for public space plan which merits public welfare such as the convenience and safety of citizenry.
Though lower floors stationed commercial rooms have a high availability of being utilized and vitalized coming from mixed-use residential traits, mere arrangement and scant use of official announcement minimize the commercial availability, and lack of strategic approach of mixed-use residential buildings and plain facade plan are going on.
We selected Jongro, Sinchon, and Hongdae districts which are full of a lot of ground floored commercial shops and a lot of movements of many pedestrians, and decided analyzing Sinchon district as an example.
Through observation of pedestrians at dense space between streets and buildings, we think of a substituting model and diverse availabilities of the exterior of the buildings in streets by analyzing characteristics of the low parts of the mixed-use residential buildings on roadsides.
