Under this research project, two main themes have been carried out: one is to develop a new type of steel stud dry wall system, using panellizing construction method, and the other is to evaluate the soundreduction performance of the said system.
(1) Development of new type of panelizing steel stud dry wall system
Since the said system consists of panellizing construction method, improved efficiency of construction progress can be easilly expected, as well as obtaining continuation of smooth steel wall surface, without any sign of joint. This will enhance the security and sound reduction performance of the said building wall to a superior degree.
(2) Evaluation of the sound reduction performance
The evaluation test of the sound prevention effect gave vaues higher than D-50 grade. When campared with existing steel stud and concrete dry wall system, respectivelly, the new system showsperformance higher than 3-10 ㏈ and 2-10 ㏈, depending on different sound frequency zone.
