Recently, remodeling business is becoming social concerns since it can dramatically reduce public costs and restrict waste of resources and environmental pollution due to careless redevelopment and reconstruction. Especially, according to a demand survey on the residents of an apartment, most of them give a first priority to sufficient parking lots. Even though the initial design of parking space complied with regulations, it may not observe either new laws or requirement of inhabitants. Therefore, we need to develop new construction technology for parking lots of an existing apartment.
This paper focuses on analysis of current construction technology to expand the existing parking space in consideration of economical, constructional, and environmental factors. The purpose is to derive an appliable and efficient method of construction. It consists of a) an advanced study on extension of existing parking space b) analysis of type of apartment c) method to expand the various types of parking lots d) analysis of construction technology of parking space expansion and application of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). Finally, it concludes an appliable construction technology for expansion of parking space of an existing apartment. Further more, it is expected that this technology can be used to solve the parking problem of a building without enough parking space.
