The purpose of this study is to show the characteristics of space composition through the analysis of mixed-use development, understanding the constituent principle of urban space, as a system of mutual relationship between the components and the structure of urban space, from the concept of urban-architecture system and deriving the method of planning from the case studies of mixed-use development. This argument indicates that the composition of urban space systematically should be considered and the planning by the urban-architecture system should be devised in the mixed-use development. Therefore, this study is to analyze the necessity for the analysis of the structure of urban space and the method of planning on the mixed-use development according to the relationship of the components. Thus, this study investigated the right meaning and the necessity of the analysis of urban-architecture system in the systematic view through theoretical examination and the possibility of applying urban-architecture system on the mixed-use development.
