Until now I had written 4 articles about the Urban Planning of Korea under the Japanese-rule in serial form. This is the last article of the same subject.
In this issue I study the preparation of a group of housing site and industrial site and the relationship between the Air Defence Act and the Town Planning.
From the end of 1930's Japan planned to make use of Korea Peninsula as the supply base for the invasion of continent. So Japan secured massive size of land for industrial complex through the Town Planning and also ensured housing site for laborers working in this industrial complex. The first part of this paper is dealt with the plan of industrial site and housing site and is explained the process and the results of this plan.
The main part of this paper is about the Air Defence Act and Town Planning. During the second World War Japan established the Air Defence Act to prepare for the air raid of enemy planes and tried to evacuate many houses to decrease the damage from air attack. This paper also is dealt with the impact of the Air Defence Act on Town Planning and is explained the process and the results of enforcement of the Air Defence Act.
