The objective of this study is to investigate relation between the heat recovery ventilator and the surface condensation of windows. The surface condensation in windows is taken place when its surface temperatures came to dew point. Generally, there are two causes of the surface condensation in windows. One is due to difference of temperatures between a inside and a outside, another is due to increase of interior water vapors. The former is able to be settled by replacement of components and materials of a window. But, the latter case is very difficult to prevent the surface condensation of windows. Because water vapors occurred for residential active in houses are inevitable and impossible to control it. So, the case of former is a main cause of the surface condensation in windows. Besides, as else a important factor causing the surface condensation in windows, we can take out a heat recovery ventilator. Recently the use of heat recovery ventilator has increased rapidly for improvement of indoor air quality and energy-saving in building. But, the high efficient heat exchange(potential heat) will be more increasable than water vapors which were only occurred by residential active. Therefore, we measured a change rates of interior water vapors according to operation of the heat recovery ventilator through experimentations to confirm association between the ventilator and the surface condensation of windows. Also, we examined it through simulations and verification experiments whether the surface condensation of windows will be influenced by structural features and materials of the ventilator.
